The Perrysburg Heights Community Association (PHCA) recently “replaced” Director of Operations, Jason Craig, after his embattled tenure.
As Mr. Craig exited his employment, tens of thousands of dollars in PHCA property suddenly came up missing. Missing from the community center include a 65-inch Vizio TV, which was removed from the wall, a deli quality meat cutter, 32 battle bubble balls ($299 each) that were just ordered, received and paid with monies from a Spanish Club grant, and a $6,000 zero-turn lawn mower.
The missing mower hurt the PHCA the hardest as it left the community center helpless to maintain the large property.
Upon reading yesterday’s story on iHeartGlassCity; Michael Vanhoose of Toledo Lawncare and Landscape, messaged me immediately on Facebook. Mr. Vanhoose wanted to help the PHCA during their time of need.
This morning I received the following letter via email.
What an amazing act of generosity. (Thank You Michael and Toledo Lawncare & Landscape)
The PHCA Board is currently assessing the extent of items and cash missing, and whether or not to pursue criminal felony theft charges against Mr. Craig for his alleged role.
This would not be Harold “Jason” Craig’s first run-in with the law. In 2002, Mr. Craig and his wife, Kristie Koester, were successfully sued for $75,000 for theft/fraud against Lotto Express.
Currently, a real estate company called D & W Development Ltd., is trying to collect a $41,940 lien they were awarded in September 2014 against Jason Craig and Kristie Koester.
In an interesting twist; it is being alleged Mr. Craig and Kristie Koester fraudulently sold the property with the $41,940 lien to another unsuspecting couple for $8,000. The couple has since invested $25,000 additionally, had no idea of the lien and is facing eviction from the property.
From the couple’s Motion for Summary Judgement:
“I have honestly worked every day my life for my family and it would be devastating to unjustly lose this lot. At my age and circumstances, I would never recover” – Robert Montgomery
Read the entire Couple’s sworn affidavits that accompanied their Motion for Summary Judgement.
More victims. Heartbreaking.
