Eastwood’s newest student Kaylee Halko, who turned 11 year-old on Monday, is headed to work to help beat Progeria.
This Monday night, July 28th, from 7 to 10 PM, 5th grader Kaylee Halko will be working behind the counter taking orders at Freeze Daddy in Monclova, Ohio. Marla Halko, Kaylee’s mom, shared the event with Facebook adding “Kaylee is very excited. She loves working behind the counter.”
According to the Facebook Event Page… “Special guest Kaylee Halko will take ice cream orders. We will have a car show with the Glass City Corvette Club and the Oak Park Gang showing off their rides. Raffles to raise money for the Progeria Research Foundation. Freeze Daddy’s will donate 30% of our sales to the fund. Bring out friends and family and have a great time.”
If there was ever a time for Northwest Ohio to buy ice cream… Monday night is it.
With what this child has gone through over the last six months, from her bullying to now enrolling in a new school; I think she and her family should be rewarded with the longest ice cream line Monclova and or all of NWO has ever seen. Thirty percent of what you spend will go to fund Progeria research, but I imagine we can fill her tip jar so much that the monies will pile higher than Kaylee herself.
Freeze Daddy’s Ice Cream is located at 8060 Monclova Rd, Monclova, Ohio 43542.
DATE: Monday July 28th
TIME: 7 to 10 PM
For more information or updates please “Join” the Freeze Daddy’s Progeria Research Fundraiser event page on Facebook. If you have or work for a business and wish to contribute something for the raffle or to be auctioned off, please email myself and I will get you in touch with the Halkos.
Come give Kaylee your best as she begins the next chapter in her life. Please give her a fantastic night to remember.
Kudos to the owners of Freeze Daddy’s Ice Cream; just when the ice cream couldn’t get any sweeter they added a little Kaylee to the mix.
