I wanted to do something special and send a big THANK YOU to someone who made a difference in Northwest Ohio.
Kayla Marie Sykes’ words have been read by over 21,500 people on Iheartglasscity and they have only been posted for less than a day. Kayla’s words has been shared over 1,300 times on Facebook, and is currently the 5th most read post of the day out of all WordPress websites. My favorite part is 98% of the eyes seeing her soul were in the 419.
Kayla, who works in Perrysburg schools, was so affected upon hearing the news of Valerie Bennet’s death, she decided to share one of her darkest secrets. It was an incredibly brave, unselfish act.
Kayla did not believe anyone other than a handful of people would take the time to read her column, she was wrong.
On a day when her community was looking for what to say, she spoke up…
On a day where I was devastated and defeated… she picked me up.
She reminded me of the power of honest words with pure intention.
A long time ago, Kayla told me she was an inspiring writer; today she proved to be way more… She inspired this writer.
Kayla, you’ll never know it… but today your words saved a life, or may be two.
In case you have yet to read them… here they are. https://iheartglasscity.com/2014/06/19/ripvalerie-time-doesnt-stop-by-kayla-sykes-a-must-read-standupforkayla/ #RIPValerie
