Meet Scott Stopher and his family.
Scott Stopher, 43, a loving father, husband and grandfather, was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in May of 2013. After enduring radiation and chemotherapy, Scott returned to health and work this year. Within a short couple of weeks, Scott suffered from an extreme loss of hearing that resulted in the diagnosis of terminal leptomeningeal cancer (brain cancer), cancer in his spine and his rib. This terminal illness has not only left he and his family emotionally devastated but they are also suffering financially.
The Stophers are a blended family with 6 kids. Scott’s oldest son Andrew served our country over in Afghanistan and has now made him a grandpa; Roewynn is 5 months old.
Scott’s inability to work has made paying the bills very tough on a family going through an even tougher moment.
Friends of the family are throwing a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser Saturday night at the Harbor View Yacht Club. The cost at the door for dinner will be $7 adults, $5 kids up to age 12. Age 3 and under are free.
Please come, have some noodles and red sauce and fill the HVYC with love and support. This family really needs it.
Note: Although they are asking $7 & $5 at the door, make sure you drop a bigger bill instead.
